Kotov prepping for an exam in ???
Arturik Razgulyaev on the bank of the Daugava
This is the road from the RTU building on Meža Street, where we spend most of our time, to the building on Kaļķu Street, where the economists spend most of theirs.
Ainars Svirkovics on the bank of the Daugava
Ainars and Arturik study at LDI, which is the most serious institute of the RTU Computer Science Faculty, and they deserve respect for this fact alone. We picked our subjects together, and now they, along with me, are forced to study C# and Java programming. My condolences!
Ainars with a guitar
I don't remember if Ainars can play the guitar, but he sure knows how to hold one - you can tell from the photo.
Shurik Maksimov close-up
Shurik and I were planning to go to Great Britain for agricultural work, but we never got around to it because we couldn't pass our exams in time. This year(2004) Shurik is again trying to talk me into going to serve the bourgeoisie and rake in some serious dough, but I lost the desire a long time ago.
It turns out that Sashka and I knew each other when we were little, and he brought me a creepy black-and-white photo, and then told stories about how I was already weird back then.
He, Kotov, and I also did a project for the "Elektroinstruments" plant, which we later successfully presented at an RTU scientific conference.
Sashka is a bit cocky and charming, and also has a pretty good category(a B, I think?) in dancing, much like Kotov and Dubovsky. He always manages to sweet-talk a prof into giving him a high grade, even though the prof later realizes they hadn't really planned to. I think one of the reasons is that he reads books, so he's pretty sharp in the humanities, and he has a silver tongue, much like myself.
Edya(Edgar) and Dimon
Edgar and Dimon are typical Pervomayka* slackers. They got out of the habit of doing anything back in high school, which is their main problem. Their brains are perfectly fine, but eternal laziness ruins people completely.(Plus alcohol, tobacco, and www.combats.ru ). On the other hand, they are decent guys, not some kind of scumbags.
*Pervomayka - the neighborhood in Daugavpils where I come from, it has a bad reputation due to its high crime rate.
